It has been a long time since the Equal Employment Opportunity Law was enacted and enforced in Japan. In the past, women’s rights were greatly restricted and women did not advance in society as much as they do now. Nowadays, however, women are emerging as managers and leaders, and the country is making remarkable progress, even though it is still in the process of development. I believe that this is not a bad thing, but rather something to be welcomed.
However, it is also true that despite the expansion of women’s rights, some women continue to cry out as if to say that men are still privileged. In particular, “feminists” in Japan can hardly be called “true feminists. So what is a “true feminist” if not a “feminist”? It is, in fact, a “misandrist”. Surprisingly, “true feminists” in Japan are in the minority. The majority of “feminists” and “twitter feminists” in Japan are so-called “misandrists”. “Feminists” and “misandrists” are often confused with each other in Japan, but they are not the same thing and are clearly differentiated from each other.
How do they differ? A true feminist is someone who recognizes women’s rights and is oriented toward gender equality and diversity. A misandrist, on the other hand, is someone who sexually discriminates, slanders, and attacks men in a male-hating, man-hating manner. As you can see by applying this, there is no doubt that most “feminists” in Japan are the latter.
Women who have even more radical ideas have said that they will build a women-only state. I think it would be a good idea to search and see what would happen if a women-only state were to be established, as a video of such a state seems to exist. For my part, after watching the video, I feel that this would be the case.
In other words, Japanese feminists, or misandrists, are not content with simply bashing the existence of men as evil, but are also willing to mercilessly attack those who do not conform to their ideology. If you go this far, you can only conclude that they not only do not recognize diversity, but are simply self-centered people. It is possible that this kind of woman’s background from birth has led her to her current personality. However, it is problematic to judge men as evil in a blanket manner. After all, there are a surprisingly large number of men who have not harmed women and yet feel trapped in their lives.
This is an opportunity for Japanese society to correctly distinguish and understand “feminists” and “misandrists” so as not to create misunderstandings. This is the correct way to think about gender in Japan.
This is not a matter of “thinking” or “feeling” in a naïve and naïve way. It is not too much to assert, but rather too little to say. This is “the fact”, “the reality” and “the truth”. It’s not a matter of good or bad, it’s nothing more than a golden rule that can’t be described in any other way and has absolutely no room for doubt.
